Since July 1, 2021, SERRA Maschinenbau GmbH in Rimsting has been under new management: Josef Werner took over from Andreas Doubrava, who is returning to Austria after 2.5 years.

Andreas Doubrava has been Finance & Technology Director at SERRA since it was acquired by Austrian company WINTERSTEIGER AG in March 2019. Doubrava has held management positions within WINTERSTEIGER AG for many years and will remain with the company, going on to manage VAP-WINTERSTEIGER GmbH in Mettmach, Austria. VAP-WINTERSTEIGER specializes in automation solutions and, like SERRA, is part of the Division Woodtech of the WINTERSTEIGER Group.

His successor, Josef Werner, will manage the business together with Christian Mayer, formerly Vice-CEO. Mr. Werner has deep roots in the wood industry. He began his professional career with an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker that included master certification. He then went on to study economics at Johannes Kepler University in Linz and had the opportunity to gain experience abroad in the USA. Josef Werner has spent the majority of his professional career in the wood industry, where he worked for the Homag Group and most recently for the SCM Group as Country Manager for Austria. Based on his international sales experience, one of Werner's core tasks will be to develop the SERRA sales and service network.
