Starting the School Year with Cubusan: 32 Air Purifier Units for Elementary School and Kindergarten

What do sawmills from Serra and air purifier Cubisan have in common? The parent company for both products is the WINTERSTEIGER AG in Ried, Upper Austria: SERRA has been part of the group since 2019.
In fall, when we start to spend more time indoors again, air purifiers are an important means of providing optimum protection against infection. At the request of Mayor Andreas Fenzl, Franz Fischer was looking for a practicable solution to make sure that the children of the Rimsting community can visit school and kindergarten without risk. From Christian Mayer, Director of Serra Maschinenbau GmbH, he heard about the innovative Cubusan air purifier and saw for himself at Serra how efficient and easy to operate it is: 32 devices will now be providing clean air in the two kindergartens and the elementary school in Rimsting. “As a local company, we are proud to be able to supply the community with a product that boosts safety in the two kindergartens and the elementary school, and that we can do it before the start of the new school year 2021/2022.” said Christian Mayer.
The unassuming cube-shaped unit measures only 19 x 19 x 19 cm and works with plasma technology similar to that used in the treatment of drinking water. The Cubusan neutralizes 99.99% of viruses and bacteria, not only in the air, but also on surfaces. Its effectiveness was by the Competence Center for Technical Hygiene & Applied Microbiology in Malsfeld, Germany, and subsequently validated by the Institute of Microbiology at the University of Innsbruck. The technology poses no heath risk whatsoever and uses no chemicals. And, particularly important for schools: the unit is ultra-quiet and won’t disturb lessons. “In comparison with filter systems, the Cubusan is very low-maintenance. All you have to do is plug it in. No need to replace lamps or filters,” Mayor Fenzl explains.
Another major advantage of the cube-shaped unit: the Cubusan neutralizes viruses directly and at source. The room air does not need to be routed through the room to the filter system, preventing the spread of dangerous aerosols. And this practical, compact unit weighs only 12 kg. “And we can borrow the Cubusan for events and council meetings. We just unplug it, take it with us and plug it back in where we need it,” says Mayor Fenzl.
