MK 402
Multi-head band saw: energy efficient, productive, resilient
This multi-head band saw is used as a resaw for boards and slats. The advantage over a circular resaw is that the kerf of the saw blades is much thinner. Compared to circular resaws with up to 6 mm (0.24 in) kerf, this model has a thinner kerf of only 2 mm (0.08 in) and a larger cutting width. Less precious wood is transformed into sawdust and furthermore, the power requirement is up to 50% lower. It is also possible to saw larger cross-sections.
Description
Unlike the main sawmill, where the saw head moves back and forth along the log, here, it is static and the timber is fed in. The MK 402 comes with 3 sets of bushings for adjustment of the cutting height, whereby the dimensions of the bushings are freely selectable. The multi-head band saw is equipped with a hydraulic lifting mechanism, star rollers and a hydraulically driven conveyor chain.

Additional saw heads
The MK 402 can be expanded with additional saw heads, for example the MK 405 with 5 saw heads. Re-feeding sawn lumber makes sense if it was not possible to saw everything in one pass. The compact, stable design is necessary because even heavy hardwood with an edge length of 420 x 420 mm (16.53 x 16.53 in) and unlimited length can be sawn. The main drive motor with 11 kW per saw head guarantees low power consumption.
Feed
The feed functions using hydraulically driven star rollers that press on the lumber from above and a hydraulically driven steel conveyor chain on which the lumber lies during sawing. This guarantees uncompromising feed and that the lumber cannot slip, even with the heaviest hardwood.
